CoolCity 3000 is a collaborative and evolving art project that explores representations of the city of the future through a large, immersive, life-size model. The exhibition brings together approximately 350 works and model fragments created by visual artists from the Province of Liège, Belgium, and Europe, forming an imaginary city that is both utopian and critical.

The project is structured around four thematic zones— pink, green, orange, and blue —that embody different urban visions: the hyperconnected and globalized city, the ecological utopia, climate-affected territories, post-Anthropocene aquatic cities. Each zone functions as a visual chapter where artists interpret contemporary urban challenges.

The works employ a variety of media (sculpture, installation, textiles, ceramics, sound, light) and raw, recycled, or hybrid materials. This diversity allows for the expression of tensions between construction and collapse, utopia and reality. The project thus affirms the role of art as a critical and sensitive language.

Led by a curatorial duo (Eve Thonon and Xavier de Kepper), the project is based on a collective dynamic and a network of cultural partners. Running from 2024 to 2028, it includes residencies, production, and dissemination. The exhibition will be presented in Liège in 2026 before touring Europe.
