Anne De Gelas presents the work ‘Lutte ou Danse’, combining texts, research notebooks, drawings and photographs. For the first time, she incorporates video as a medium, in collaboration with Hubert Amiel and Max Berleur.

“Struggle or dance – A2 – inherent tensions of the filial relationship – face to face – rereading this furious closed room – revisiting the images – retracing the path toward – gentle/violent – filming the unfolding of a movement – clashes and caresses – performing – what lies outside the frame – repetitions – suspensions – fumbling – the image is made/unmade – like the precariousness of the bond – the evidence of bodies transforming – identities in transition – the once natural and ordinary gesture becomes strange – sometimes unsettling – creating an interstice – breaking the idealized maternal image – a less smooth version – fusional and/or explosive – what is this dance that unites and separates us – child/mother/they/woman/artist(s) – the richness of a crossing – of a reinvented bond.”
