Otherness is worked on daily in our spaces of connection and community health. It is one of the keys to better mental health, as recognition in the gaze of the other contributes to the construction of the self and lays the groundwork for a life made possible within community. The involvement of AIGS (Association Interrégionale de Guidance et de Santé) services in the BIP2026 OFF, titled MIRROIR MIRROIR, takes on its full meaning here.

Through a participatory exhibition where each visitor is invited to capture, as in a mirror, a portrait of themselves and a portrait of the other, we will shine a light on these spaces that fight against social isolation and invent new ways of building community. This exhibition will open with a screening of the film “La Bienvenue,” directed by Maya Duverdier in collaboration with researcher Sophie Thunus.

It is also a form of shifting balance that will be brought into view: the heterogeneity of life paths, the coexistence of multiple frameworks, the fragmentation of statuses within deliberately porous spaces. Community-based work reveals itself here as fragile, constantly being reworked. A patient, imperfect, yet deeply alive weaving… a door open to ethics, empathy, and, even more so, responsibility toward others.
