Live From Liège “Illusions Ardentes”

Caught between artificial intelligence and online hate, between image rights that protect and stigmatization that destroys, between the pursuit of beauty, the fake, the spectacular, likes, fame, and their inevitable consequences, photography continues to literally challenge us to question what we highlight and what we conceal.

A city we know but don’t truly recognize, sometimes more beautiful or mysterious than we imagine.

To make things shine when it is so common to sully them is also a conscious and committed choice.

We are no longer masters of our images, which have become inseparable from social media, the feelings they provoke, and the comments and behaviors they elicit.

At a time when image technology is used primarily to stigmatize before erasing, focusing on another reality is as much a responsibility as it is a form of therapy and an act of resistance.

Whether faithful or deceptive, the reflection doubles reality and creates its own illusion.

Yet the moment frozen by the lens did indeed exist, fleetingly.

We just forgot to see it.
