The 12th edition of La Biennale de l’Image Possible, BIP2020, took place in Liège from September 19 to October 25, 2020. This time, BIP took over two unusual venues: the former DECATHLON store in the heart of Liège and “La Menuiserie,” a former municipal workshop.
A window onto all forms of images, BIP is an event that explores possibilities through photography and the visual arts. BIP2020 was intended to be an international, civic-minded, activist, and participatory event. It brought together Belgian and foreign artists and involved all generations.
For its 2020 edition, BIP asked the question: “What is the impact of art on our realities?” To address the vast range of possible answers, BIP opened its program to other curators. Thus, BIP’s central program was based in particular on three projects selected following a call for curatorial projects launched at the end of 2019. The selected proposals brought together numerous artists from all walks of life and backgrounds, broadening the initial question and offering beautiful and surprising discoveries.
