Camille Dufour

Camille Dufour (Mons, 1991) graduated from La Cambre ENSAV in 2017. Her graduation project, حلب صابو (Soap of Aleppo), dealt with the siege of Aleppo, and won the Prize for Engraving and Printed Images in 2017. In February 2019, this work was awarded the Prix de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles à la Médiatine.

In recent years, she has developed a novel approach to woodcutting that combines installation and performance around monumental matrices that she prints with soap until the ink runs out. The symbolic dimension is at the centre of her work. The erasing of the motif – representing the evils that strike the contemporary world – is a form of catharsis.

Since 2018, Camille Dufour has been collaborating with the Bruthaus Gallery. In 2019, she exhibited at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris, the Wiels in Brussels, the KIKK Festival in Namur, Classens Canvas in Waregem and the IJsberg Foundation in Damme, among others.
